Senior Electrical Cad Technician

Under the supervision of an engineer or project manager researches, develops and designs electrical equipment, components and systems applying electrical design principles and techniques. Undertakes detailed electrical design for domestic/international commercial and industrial applications, including primary and secondary electrical power distribution systems that provide uninterrupted and generator backup power. Directs design personnel in the design, fabrication and testing of mockups and actual system installations including controls and instrumentation. Directs design activities to ensure that the design conforms to the functional specifications and customer requirements. Trains design personnel on the latest versions of AutoCAD. Have experience in control systems interface and design.

Must have excellent communication and organizational skills, be capable of working independently, be familiar with workflow processes, redlines and drawing production. Have supervision experience, trouble shooting experience and commissioning and testing experience with power generation systems. Successfully complete a background check and drug screening prior to employment.

Possible overseas travel may be required and experience in an A & E office is a plus.

Computer Literacy: Advanced skill in AutoCAD Version 10 or later with additional intermediate level skills with AutoCad Revit Suite and Microsoft Office programs.

Education and Certification: Technical College or University Degree

Principal Electrical Design Engineer

Manages the design of the electrical systems for domestic and international commercial and industrial applications, including primary and secondary electrical power distribution systems that provide uninterrupted and generator backup power. Must be familiar with load flow studies, conceptual analysis, working with conceptual drawings and the production and review of detailed electrical and control drawings. Manages personnel in the design, fabrication and testing of electrical systems and mockups and determines methods, procedures and conditions for testing both mockups and the actual system installations and develops applications for control, instrumentation and uninterruptible power systems for domestic and international commercial and industrial uses. Directs activities to ensure that the specification, manufacturing, construction, installation, operational testing and commissioning conform to the functional specifications and customer requirements.

Must have excellent communication and leadership skills, be familiar with workflow processes, redlines and drawing production and be capable of working independently. Must have supervisory experience, trouble shooting experience, commissioning and testing experience and be proactive with the ability to take the lead in challenging situations. Must successfully complete a background check and drug screening prior to employment. Overseas travel may be required and experience in an A & E office is a plus.

Computer Literacy: Skilled in computer programs including Microsoft Project and AutoCAD with at least intermediate level skills with Microsoft Office programs and AutoCad Revit program.

Electrical Service Technician

Position Requirements: Install, maintain, repair, test and commission electrical and electronic equipment and systems, backup electrical power generation systems, uninterrupted electrical power systems and electrical power conditioning equipment for industrial and commercial applications.

Assembles and tests motor control devices, switch panels,transformers, generator windings, solenoids and other electrical equipment and components according to engineering data and their knowledge of electrical principles. Modifies electrical prototypes to correct functional deviations under the direction of an Electrical Engineer. Diagnoses the cause of electrical or mechanical malfunctions or failure of operational equipment and performs preventative and corrective maintenance. Assists with the development of wiring diagrams, layout drawings and engineering specifications for system and/or equipment modifications. Directs and assists field personnel performing preventative and corrective routine installation and maintenance duties. Plans, directs and records periodic electrical testing. Installs control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays and circuit breaker panels ensuring proper fastening, termination and testing. Be able to utilize hand and power tools. Recommends or initiates modifications or replacement of equipment which fails to meet acceptable operational standards. Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment and follows diagrams and blueprints to ensure that the systems are correctly installed.

Must have a thorough working knowledge of international and national electrical codes and standards, power generators (backup and prime), static and rotary UPS systems and associated equipment and controls. Must have the ability to test, install and commission these power systems utilizing components available at the project location.

Must successfully complete a background check and drug screening prior to employment. Overseas travel may be required and experience in an A & E office is a plus.

Be capable of performing the following tasks:

• read electrical, architectural and mechanical diagrams, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements

• Plan the layout of wiring systems

• Test for, locate and repair electrical malfunctions

• Install electrical and electronic control systems and cables

• Install electrical equipment such as switchgear, backup generators, uninterrupted power systems, power conditioning systems and related controls

• Assemble electrical and electronic components and systems

• Install and connect electrical equipment to power supplies including switch outlets, circuit breakers and other fittings

• Contribute and adhere to the safety requirements of the operation or project and all applicable safety codes and requirements

• Assist with the development and writing of contracts

• Interpret specifications, drawings, codes and standards utilized for the electrical power equipment

• Be familiar with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Systems (SCADA), RS232 and Modbus remote monitoring systems

Computer Literacy: Skilled in computer programs including word processing, spreadsheet, Microsoft Office and email at a minimum.

Education and Certification: High School Diploma and a Journeyman Electrician’s license

Travel: Foreign and Domestic
